The idea with the launch command is that you should not have to call the underlying program to open a document of a registered type.
The problem here is that if you have to hard code the path to acrobat.exe, and then you update your version of acrobat, your apps will not work w/o fixing the path. The alternative is to call explorer.exe with your file name and it should be able to open it. Zip command /c explorere.exe myfile.pdf Or Launch myfile.pdf Yes, you might need the quotes. Try and figure out what works with your version of R:base.
