NET USE is a command-line program for Windows systems that lets you assign
network facilities to appear as local resources for the computer you're running
on. Two things it is used for are mapping network disks and "capturing"
printer output.

You would put the NET USE command in the batch file you use to start R:Base, or
else ZIP out from R:Base and run a batch file with the NET USE command before
printing. Using this technique you are actually able to offer the user a
number of different printers under RBDos.

If this is RBWin, you do NOT need to use NET USE.

Whether or not the printers are installed on the server is irrelevant as far as
R:Base is concerned, because R:Base runs only on the workstation.

You need to install the printer on the workstation, so that it appears in the
list of printers on the control panel. You can install the printer as a local
printer or as a network printer as you prefer, but it must have an existence on
the workstation from which you expect to print.

Make the desired printer the default printer for the workstation, and your
output should go where you want. Older versions of R:Base (pre-RBTI) did not
have good facilities for selecting printers under program control, so probably
the best you will achieve is to get the output going to the default printer.
