If we connect to our database using Tango as the first connection, it appears to be setting the transaction mode to "On". Then if we try to connect using the R:Base client, it tells us it can't connect because we aren't in the same "transaction mode"...
Wes,
Follow these steps:
01. Stop R:Tango service
02. DISConnect database and close all R:BASE sessions
03. Using the Windows Search option, search the entire server
for OTERRO.CFG and RBASE.CFG If found in multiple directories, keep only one of each and
delete the rest of them.04. Move both OTERRO.CFG and RBASE.CFG into either C:\WinNT
(if using Windows 2000), or C:\Windows (if using Windows 2003
server). Keeping both files in the windows directory will avoid
duplicating both CFG files in multiple directories.05. Using any text editor, such as Notepad, edit OTERRO.CFG and
make sure that TRANSACT is set to OFF (line 58 or so)06. Repeat step 03 for RBASE.CFG and make sure that TRANSACT is set
to OFF (line 99 or so)07. Make sure that the following settings are consistent in both
(OTERRO.CFG and RBASE.CFG) files. . AUTOCOMM
. AUTOCONV
. AUTORECO
. AUTOROWV
. AUTOSYNC
. AUTOUPGR
. COMPATIB08. Start R:Tango service
09. Now CONNect your database using R:Tango
10. CONNect your R:BASE client and see what you get ...
That's all there is to it!
Very Best R:egards,
Razzak.
