Welcome back to R:Base - it's great to hear from
you!
When a straight variable field is converted, R:Base
defaults it to Varaible Edit field. Delete that control, and use a
Variable Memo control instead - your Wrap option is right at the top and
defaults to yes!
I second Sami's suggestion about a class and
there are a bunch coming up soon.
Then consider signing up to be an Authorized R:Base
Developer and coming to the R:Chautauqua event in April - we'd love to see
you.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - 7.1 Forms Conversion problem Hi All,
After wondering the wilderness for awhile I have recently rejoined that
illustrious group know as R:Base developers. While eagerly awaiting the
arrival of my new R:Base 7.1, I decided to download the evaluation copy to begin
working with conversions to see how things were going to go. Aside from
the need to remove frames from fields that didn't have them before, everything
seems to be going well except for one thing.
I have a form with 2 variable fields that display long
text. The original form has the fields formatted so that they can show
about 7 lines of text. The converted forms are formatted so that they show
only 1 line of text. I can modify the forms to remove frame formatting and
change the field width, but changes in height do not stick. When I save
the form and return to edit, the fields are back to 1 line high. All other
changes saved. Otherwise the form seems to work properly. Removing
and re-creating the field produces the same results, the field reverts back to 1
line high. I carefully reviewed all of the wonderful new options for
field properties and was unable to find an analogy to the "Wrap text" option in
6.5 so I am not sure where else to look.
I am sure that I have probably overlooked something simple, any
suggestions?
The evaluation is at build 7.1.79.31215 - perhaps that makes a difference
...
Thanks,
Michael
