Wess,

First, make sure you're running the most current release. The most
current is 7.1.80.30421.

I do remember seeing access violation message when I had some obsolete
syntax in code I cut and pasted from 6.5. But honestly, I can't
remember which obsolete command caused it. I would review the obsolete
commands in version 7.1.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - 7.1 Conversion

Hey Folks...

I'm converting my systems from R:Base 6.5++ to 7.1 (better late than
never!), and I am having a few issues. I thought maybe folks here could
help me.

I'll start with the weirdest one:

I'm getting TONS of what appear to be memory address errors as I tweak
things (right now I'm working on forms). For instance, I have one form
that whenever I run it I get this error message:

"Access violation at address 00FCBOBD in module "RBENGINE.DLL'. Read of
address E8087603."

Sometimes I get a similar kind of error when I save a form. In most
cases, if I dismiss them I can keep working without any apparent
problem. But I've had a couple instances where I get caught in an
endless loop. Each time I dismiss the error message it pops back up,
and I can't get out of it without doing a CTRL-ALT-DEL to quite the
application.

Is this anything anybody has seen before?

Thanks for any thoughts anybody may have!
