I have a weird problem going on at a clients office. All of a sudden quite a few users cannot get into R:Base. Some still can. They all run R:Base over Terminal Services 2003 on a 2003 Server. Some work just fine and others do not. It appears to be related to the workstation that the user is on although all workstations are identical machines and they are all running WinXP Pro. We are using R:Base 2000 v6.5 Build 1.833xRT03. Everything has been running fine for everyone since we started with Terminal Services (about 8 months ago) until this last week.
I get on using Remote Desktop Connection from my place. I log on as Administrator and I cannot run R:Base. The business owner can do the same thing and he works fine! I can run the RBG65.exe file and it starts. I can connect to the database, see all the data. I can use any of the EDIT commands and work with data. I cannot print any reports (it just closes with no error message). If I try and run even a very simple command file like PAUSE 3 USING 'hello' it just closes with no error message. Even the CONNECT dbname command in Rbase.dat causes it to crash. All the database settings are what they should be. It is not a RIGHTS issue as logging on as Administrator does not help. The database is fine. I can run it locally without a problem and other users are able to anything and everything they normally can. All the settings are identical for each user. I have tried UNLOAD and RELOAD. There is no corruption in the database. It is not a database problem. It has nothing to do with how many users are on. I cannot get it to work late at night and I am the only one in there. I have tried the backup SERVER6.RBG file. Anybody have any ideas? Best regards, Mike Young
