We finally resolved this issue. All we had to do was choose a different default printer and it worked. Evidently R:Base looks for a printer as it loads and under certain circumstances if it does not like the printer it crashes.
We are going to look at it more closely and try and find out why some of the printers are good and others fail. They have about 20 printers to choose from. I will let you know when we find the common thread. Thanks for all your suggestions. Best regards, Mike Young
