Make sure to get a very fast server.

Bacause of the way Microsoft handles security, every time you try to read a code file there will be validation and network traffic, that will slow things down.  Microsoft just didn't design for scripted appications.

After a little tuning of my apps to eliminate certain extreme cases of files calling files, quitting back to the original etc. we get similar performace on our new super fast Microsoft server to what we used to get on our old slow novell server.

I've also made sure that scratch files are on the local drive. Anything you can do to keep file activity on the server to a minimum will improve things.

Actual database performance seems faster, probalby because once you connect, all security validataion has been done for the 4 RB files so that is not an issue.

Just make sure that all users have sufficient access rights to do what they have to do and all should work fine.

I have both rbase 6.1a for DOS and rbase 6.1a windows, and will be moving from a Novell server to a Windows 2003 server.

Are there any known problems running on a Windows 2003 server using these Rbase versions in a multiuser scenario?

Thanks for any help!
