Chuck,
Try a local copy of the db. If that one works ok, then I suspect you are having networking problems on that server. Network cards, switches, all are suspect. Start with the server network card as it is the easiest to swap out.

Have db that's been moved to a differnet server. When trying to browse to the end of any of the big tables, I get I/O error messages diologs. Everyting seems to be ok with it, autochk reports no errors. Did a unload and reload, everything came over fine but the new db is having the same issues.
