Dan:

A few things to consider:

Is whval0 pre-defined with the correct type and value?

Does a jobnum with the value of vhval0 exist?

Make sure that you are not using O (oh) intead of 0 (zero)

Have you cheeked that the quotes setting is still “?

Create a variable:

SET VAR vquote = (CVAL('QUOTES'))

And trace the code and see what is the value of vquote and vhval0 before you execute the command

Other than that is should work OK.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Syntax Problem

Good morning,
  I had some older code fail today, and I can't see why. Can anyone see this?

Setup:  Rbase 6.5++ Windows

PRINT  job_rpt  WHERE  jobnum = .whval0

fails where

PRINT  job_rpt  WHERE  jobnum = "18074"

works fine.

The variable whva10 is Text, Quotes are ".  What is the difference, and why could this just start failing this morning with no changes to the database that I know of?
