Dear R:BASE Community,

We have received several reports of
R:BASE users encountering the error
message: "Runtime Error 217". There
were rare instances where RBTI was
able to replicate the error.

A recent report of success from a
member of the R:BASE community is
to edit the "Path" System Variable.

With different programs installed on
computers, the Path System Variable
can increase to great lengths. Make
sure the "SystemRoot" and "System32"
paths are located in the front of
the System Variable to eliminate the
"Runtime Error 217" error message.

To locate the Path System Variable:

1. Right-click on "My Computer",
   select "Properties"
2. Choose the "Advanced" tab, and
   select "Environment Variables"
3. From the "System Variables" panel,
   locate the System Variable "Path",
   and select "Edit"
4. In the list of paths, be sure that
   the "SystemRoot" and "System32"
paths are located towards to front

Take notice that each path is separated
by a semicolon ";". Make sure to keep a
semicolon between different paths.

Best Regards,
