I happened to support several R:Base 2.11 applications still running in
our department. No documentation, just a very few hints from my
predecessor and frequent data corruption issues. Thanks to John Minyo, I
was able to buy RScope recovery tool, that's why I'm still employed
here!
Unfortunately, migration to the recent R:Base 7.5 is not an option
because one of our main applications is compiled and integrated into
.RBF file and source code is not available.
I would highly appreciate it if you or anybody else from the R:Base mail
list could help me with a couple of very important issues I have right
now.
First, I have a compiled R:Base application that is password protected.
I know the password and can access and fix data through the RScope, but
I can't open database using Rbase.exe. When I tried to open my database
directly using Rbase.exe I came up with the following message:
-WARNING- This password will not allow access to any table
Enter a new user identifier or [ESC] to Exit
The problem, there is no option or command where I could pass the
required password.
The second issue is how to export data into the comma/tab delimited text
file. I can't open database file running Rbase.exe (from R> window) due
to the password issues, but I still can open database file using RScope.
So, is there any workout that would allow me to export data using RScope
functionality?
