It shows no errors. All 3 application files are in the same directory as the database(I was able to edit the application through Application Express up until the last time when I added several items to an existing menu). I would assume if the application code was generated by the application express then all the necessary code would be in the application. I did R> show char and all are the same as shown. I still can't edit the Application through Application Express (I can run the application but I can't do any editing of it). Then I'd RELOAD the database files and see if that fixes your problem - you may have some corruption in the database so be sure that you do record counts before and after the reload to be sure you don't lose any records. Then, for the problem opening the application express designer, be sure you have all three files for your application in the same folder - the extensions are APP, APX and APW. If you are missing the APW file, then the designer cannot open the file. If you still have problems, those error messages can also indicate that there is something missing or unbalanced either in your application or in your report variables - like there is a missing end-quote or missing endif. Or that there is a variable that is expected to be in memory but it isn't. One last thing to look at is, at the R> Prompt, type SHOW CHAR and see if your character settings have changed. The typical settings are: R>SHOW CHAR BLANK DELIMIT , LINEEND ^ SEMI ; QUOTES ' PLUS + SINGLE _ MANY % IDQUOTES ` If none of this helps, feel free to post another message. I now need to edit it. When I try to edit it using Object Manager I get the following message "RB65.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close". How can I edit the application (I want to delete several menu items). Since my knowledge is limited I have always used Application express to write my application. I also started XP in safe mode but got the same results. My second problem is when I am running several reports from within the application. After running two reports I select the criteria for the 3rd report and when I go to run it I get the message "RB65.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close". I would appreciate any help on these issues. Unfortunately upgrading to 7.5 is not an option. Thanks, Duncan -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
