Are you talking about read-only capabilities of the PROGRAM
files?  There is no read-only allowed on a database as even trying
to connect forces a write to the file.  If you're talking programs, then
I assume if you tag them as read-only at your place and copy them
over, doesn't it retain the read-only property?
