Announcing: New R:BASE List Server Features

R:BASE Technologies will start 2008 (their 10th Anniversary Year) with some
changes to the R:BASE list servers that should improve everyone's ability to
get the information they need from R:BASE Technologies and from the R:BASE
Community.

Beginning January 2, the list server that has been named RBG7-L will be
discontinued, and all subscribers to that list will be subscribed
automatically to the RBASE-L list server.

RBASE-L will be a list server for the entire R:BASE Community, from users of
legacy products to those who are using the "latest and greatest."

In the past, RBG7-L was reserved for announcements and discussions about
current R:BASE products, and RBASE-L was used for "legacy" products. There
were many times when announcements and messages had to be posted to both
lists. Sometimes announcements were posted on only one of these lists, but
subscribers to the other list would have been able to help with an answer.

The merged RBASE-L list will bring all users under a single umbrella. It
will reduce the number of duplicate messages many people receive, and will
eliminate questions about which list(s) to post a message on. It will enable
legacy users to read about features available if they upgrade, and to read
about experiences of users of current products. More users of current
products will see legacy questions and will be able to offer assistance to
users still working with older products.

A separate RDEV-L list will continue to be available for use among R:BASE
Authorized Developers. As needed, R:BASE Technologies will also have one or
more list servers for use by beta testers of products not yet released.

Please enjoy, and adjust your email filters accordingly.

Happy New Year!
