With current version 7.6

I setup an enter form with an ON Row Exit eep containing a Property Table 
<tablename> Refresh 'TRUE'

with your code structure in the timer form (which is a variable form started 
Edit using FormName MDI as ALIASName)

and it updates the variable field on the form properly
