Thanks Adrian,

I only have one client that uses dual monitors and she has only complained
once about forms showing up on the wrong monitor but I know that she would
like me to come up with a fix for this issue. I suspect that a registry
setting to remember where the form last opened would correct the problem but
I didn't see anything obvious in the registry.

It is more of an aggravation with me since I use dual monitors all day. I
have found that having two monitors is a great productivity enhancer. It is
the best investment that I have made in recent years. I hope someone has a
fix.

John

Hi John

For the preview of RBase I couldn't find a registry entry, sorry.

For many Rbase windows you are able to find the location-settings in
registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\R:Base Technologies\RBG8\...

Sometimes I have to fix the location on my computer in the registry, because
after some tests with two monitoring system, I couldn't find the correct
window on my screen if I removed the extended monitor.

I fight in similar problems, as dialogs and pause commands don't' appear on
the right screen, even if main window of the application is already on right
monitor.

Also the enduser has to move the application after every start to the
correct screen. The mess is, that our customers starts two applications, one
on left and one on right monitor, so I couldn't fix the rbase window
location to right screen. The luxury version would be if the user would have
to icons for calling RBase, one for right screen and one for left one.

Best Regards

Adrian

Subject: [RBASE-L] - V8 Forms Designer (Preview)

I have an annoyance that I have been fighting for a couple of months. I
have dual monitors on my PC and I use both monitors extensively, dragging
forms back and forth.

Symptoms:

When in forms designer if I click on preview, the forms always display on
monitor 2. (I want it to appear on monitor 1)

When I run the application normally, all of the forms display on monitor 1.

What I have tried:

I have tried to drag the open form to monitor 1 and then close form designer
but the next time that I preview the form appears on monitor 2.

I have looked for settings that may control this behavior but I cannot find
any. I do not have this problem with version 7.5.

Is there a registry setting that controls this?

John
