... could y'all elaborate on the R:WEB Reports product?
Steve, There is no substitute for looking at live examples! (no smoke'n mirrors ...) http://www.rwebreports.com (Without Defining a System DSN) http://www.rwebreports.com/76/ (Using Oterro 4.0 System DSN) http://www.rwebreports.com/80/ (Using Oterro 8.0 System DSN) R:WEB Reports allows you to print your existing R:BASE 7.x and R:BASE Turbo V-8 for Windows reports live on the web, on demand! The database connection and reports are handled by R:WEB Reports with or without defining a System DSN. Think about accessing and printing your cool R:BASE 7.x or Turbo V-8 reports from anywhere simply using the web browser. The web application (as demonstrated above) can be designed in your favorite language. Since the introduction of R:WEB Suite (June 22, 2004), we have been enjoying and developing R:BASE WEB applications using PHP as our preferred language. FYI, the majority of enhancements in the latest versions of Oterro (4.0/8.0) and R:WEB Reports (7.6/8.0) are the direct result of tight integration and compatibility of PHP (5.2.5) using Apache (2.2.8) on Windows 2003 and Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 Edition SP2 servers.
For example: What other products are pre-req's? (I assume at least one seat of R:Base and possibly R:WEB ...)
From a development and deployment perspective, R:WEB Suite includes everything you need. http://www.rwebsuite.com R:WEB Reports is an add-on product to compliment R:WEB Suite. R:WEB Reports can be used with any program, such as ASP, ASP.NET, C#, Visual Basic, ColdFusion, JSP, Perl, PHP, or Servlets without R:BASE 7.5, 7.6 or Turbo V-8 installed on your workstation or web server.
What about the inclusion in these reports of graphics from R:Charts? How do y'all see/recommend the configuration of the R:Base components /products as well as the infrastructure?
To integrate R:Charts in reports, you'll need the R:Charts 7.6/8.0. Product details and complete help manuals: http://www.RCharts.com Once R:Charts are designed and fully integrated in your R:BASE 7.6 or Turbo V-8 for Windows reports, you may also access and deploy the exact report on the web using R:WEB Reports (see URLs above). I hope that gives you enough information. Should you require further assistance, feel free to ask. Very Best R:egards, Razzak.
