I recently bought my 12-year-old son a FINE, new, Nokona mitt and his FINE, new, Adidas interchangeable spikes should arrive today.
Due to the nature of the new job, I'm neither coaching nor assisting this year - something I've done for the past 5 years. (Truth be told, my absence from the diamond, in a lot of ways, is probably good for him, since his Dad's not around to inhibit him.) However, when I arrived to pick him up from his first practice, his coaches both said that he's come a long way since last year. When we threw some this past Sunday afternoon, I was in agreement with their early assessment. Right now, watchin' my son play, baseball looks pretty good.
