DAVID, The following details will explain how to properly configure for DOS on Windows operating systems. =================================================== 1. The R:BASE 7.1 program must be included in the operating system path. 1. Right-click on "My Computer", select "Properties" 2. Choose the "Advanced" tab, and select the "Environment Variables" button 3. From the "System Variables" panel, select "New" 4. Name the variable "FILES" with a value of 60 5. From the "System Variables" panel, select "New" again 6. Name the variable "BUFFERS" with a value of 60 7. From the "System Variables" panel, locate the system variable "Path", and select "Edit" 8. In the list of paths, add the path to the R:BASE executable. (i.e. C:\RBTI\RBDOS71\) You do not need to specify the name of the executable. You will notice that each path is separated by a semicolon ";". Make sure to place a semicolon when adding the path to your R:BASE executable. ========================================================== 2. The DOS screen will appear as a small Microsoft Windows window or, it will be a full DOS screen with only have of the screen displaying information. 1. Right click on the R:BASE for DOS desktop icon, and select "Properties". The dialog window will be displayed with tabs across the top. 2. Choose the "Screen" tab. 3. Within the panel for "Usage", select "Full-screen". 4. Click "Apply". 5. Click OK. The dialog window will close. 6. Launch R:BASE for DOS by double-clicking on the desktop icon. 7. After the program launches, press the keys [Alt]+[Enter]. DAVID MILTENBERGER
