I'll second Rachael's endorsement of V8 for that same reason. Although
I'm not in a position to dictate system-wide do it the RB-Way, even if
the long-term R:Dough (Thanks, Dan) would be less than the outlay of M$
(M'Dollars, and any implied expletives associated with M$ ...), it is
really nice to hit Oracle/SQLServer DB's and not have to fool with
renaming/aliasing tables and/or fields.

You know, it's also somehow revealing to see how others name (mis-name?)
their database components. I often pause to ask myself, rhetorically,
"What were they thinking?" That's rhetorical because I've already
answered my Q with "Probably, not much."

Well, I digress when I should once again say that I think RB, especially
V8, is R:eally cool.

oh and I got to add if you are up grading to 7.6 just go to V8. for an
extra 250 I literally feel there is nothing I can't do with V8, and it
is so nice to have

tables, fields, and variables with names that are meaningful, not have
to worry if the database might get to big, and if a client has a legacy
SQL/Oracle app and you can step in and go 'no problem!'..it's really
fun!!!

Have a Fabulous Day!

I wonder if it does it in 7.6. Maybe download the eval, copy
your database, and see if it still happens.

If it works okay then you should spend some R:Dough and get the
upgrade. There are many enhancements and bug fixes that will make it
worth your while.

I see that my screenshots didn't make it thru the list server.

Seems to only affect forms with a scrolling region.

Basically the forms were built on another machine, and work
perfectly.

If you enter or edit using (formname) on this machine, they work
perfectly.

But if you edit the form in form designer, this is what happens.

Open the form for work on it, and it is fine, close with out
changes, no problem.

But if you make any changes, when you re-open the form in
designer , or enter or edit using,

all the fields that were in the scrolling region are now located
at the top of the form.

If you look at the tab order, they now all show up outside of
the region.

This is happening with every form that contains a scrolling
region, and only on this 1 machine.

I have reloaded, updated with latest update and checked for
RBEngine problems.

It is very strange. Guess I can't work on a form on this
machine till I figure it out.
