G'day Bob, Thanks for your reply. I probably did not explain myself properly - I was giving details of the installed V8 ODBC driver but am trying to connect to the MYOB data source the way you have given. Under Utilities>Connect to a Data Source I can connect and, after doing that, I go to the Disconnect option it shows that the data source is connected. The problem I am having is that when trying to attach a table from the data source the table names all appear with "MYOB." as the first part of the table name - e.g. the Customers table shows as MYOB.Customers - in Excel it only shows as Customers and the data dictionary only lists the table name as Customers. This appears to be where I am having the problems as I cannot get the tables to attach to the V8 database.
