I almost got it. Instead of using the Region, Buddy, I set Shift With
Parent=TRUE for all the controls positioned below the Variable Memo
control.

That ALMOST worked like a champ. Well, it did for everything except a
Shape control that refuses to Stretch, but will Shift.

So, I have a workaround. Place 2 of these rectangle Shapes, same size,
same location, then Shift one of 'em.

However, I am left with the question about parentage. What determines
Parent or Child?

Thanks,

Steve

Steve

Place the variable memo in a region and the column names in a
different region. In the region with the column names make sure you
click on ShiftRelativeTo and then select the region that that has the
variable memo. Also click stretch on both regions.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Stretching VARCHAR/BLOB in Break Header

Would anyone be able to give some advice on handling a stretching
VARCHAR/BLOB in a Report Break Header?

I have some data from an Oracle db with a LONG VARCHAR field. I've
placed a Variable Memo control on the report in the break header where I
want it located, STRETCH=TRUE. However, when the data exceeds the size
of the field/control on the report, it stretches, but right into the
column-header labels below it.

What I really want is that any controls positioned lower than this field
shift with the field.

Any tips?

Thanks,

Steve in Memphis
