The other users of 7.6 here at the company are trying to download the updates for the most recent version of 7.6. Once the download comes and it asks if you want to save them, does it matter where you save the download? Also one person did save it to the same folder as the EXE file but now does not know how to get the update in RBASE itself. What comes next?
Jim, Make sure to ALWAYS save the update executable(s) is a temporary folder. When applying the updates, use the "Typical" option to apply updates on a local workstation, unless you are running RBG76.EXE on a server, using "Server" setup.
On another subject, will making a report in the updated version of 7.6 make it unusable in the earlier version of 7.6? I ask this because the report we made while I was with you will not work on the other machines here at the office. It comes up with the error ppReport1 Disable Trace: Property Disable Trace Does Not Exist. What does this mean?
In a network (multi-user) environment, when running RBG76.EXE on individual machines and sharing a same database on the network, you, as a responsible person, have to make sure that all workstations are using the "same update and build" of R:BASE! In your specific situation, make sure that your end-users are also using the similar version/build of R:BASE 7.6 for Windows. The latest and greatest updates of R:BASE 7.6 and Turbo V-8 are available at: R:BASE 7.6 for Windows: http://www.rupdates.com/rbg76/ R:BASE Turbo V-8 for Windows: http://www.rupdates.com/rbg8/ You should not encounter any problem nor see incompatibility -ERROR-s, if everyone, including yourself, is using the same update/build of R:BASE! Have fun! Very Best R:egards, Razzak.
