----------------------------Hi Alastair,
If you can't find a way to do it automatically, and If you need to write code
to get the job done, send me the column names involved and what you want the
output to look like and I'll write it for you.

  Thanks Bernie,

Not so much trying to avoid writing code as to avoid re-inventing the wheel
and writing code that _has_ to be different for each form.

I was hoping that something like the browser facility might be exposed for
use somewhere that I hadn't yet found.

I hope that I can write the code to select and print but, so far, I can't
think of a way to make it variable for whatever table(s) is in use, whatever
columns and the current sort (dbgrid, mainly) and put it in one generic button
for use on any form.

Lazy, maybe, but if I could get what I want to do to work it would be
unrestricted not only between forms but also databases - I already have an
"Action Bar" (actually a group box) of buttons that does all my navigation,
save, exit, etc. and this would be a nice addition.

  Regards,
  Alastair.

    Hi Alastair,
Are you trying to avoid writing code?
Otherwise a speed button on your form with an eep to select the columns
into vars, then output printer and/or output filename (to export), then a write
statement.
That should give you what you want, I think.

I have been considering how to create a button (or, at least, the code
behind it) to enable me to print from a form in much the same way that you can
click on [Menu][Edit] | [Print Data] and [Menu][Edit] | [Export Results To] in
the data browser.

I am particularly interested in exporting the data in the sequence that
it is currently displayed which may not be the same as the original data set
sequence. I'm trying to avoid creating a separate report for a number of forms
but I haven't been able to find any way to code what I want to obtain.

Am I missing something obvious? Is there a way to do what I want or is
this something that might be a candidate for an enhancement request?

Thanks in advance for any insights.
      Regards,

      Alastair
