Razzak,

I have to admit that I had no idea what the date was - other than nearly 10 years ago because you said so - and Paul beat me to the answer anyhow.

What I do remember is the relief that R:Base had been rescued and the delight that resulted. As both a business and a personal user at that time it was much more of a problem for me having to think about finding an alternative than for the company that I worked for who already used a number of different systems.

At that time I knew of you only from the old Harry Bass list and I also remember thinking that at least R:Base had been bought by somebody who might know something about it rather than by a company that would amalgamate it into some other product. Since then I have only had the opportunity to meet you just the once but that demonstrated your passion for improving our database and making it work - in all senses of the word - and that "might know something" turned into "knows pretty much everything".

Thank goodness you took that step and thank you and all RBTI for the transformation of the fortunes of R:Base and its upward progress over the last 10 years.

Best wishes for the next 10,
Alastair.

Ooh, nice - I'm sure that I've got duplicated code somewhere in
embedded EEPs and external ones - thanks, Razzak.

Alastair,

Enjoy the latest pre-release updates and watch for the official
"10th Anniversary Edition(s)" of R:BASE 7.6 and Turbo V-8 for
Windows.

Do you know when is the *actual* 10th Anniversary of RBTI?

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.
