Jim

I think they are using the same user id on both computers
I may try using 2 different users to see what happens.

Thanks
Marc

Marc,

Is your database using the RBase/SQL "GRANT" security system? If so verify the USERID supplied on server and on each workstation.

Hi

I have a user that says on the server computer they can not
update records
on some tables or add data to one table but then can on
other tables on this
server computer.....Now the strange part, they say they can
do these things
on the workstation computer.

I had them turn off all computers, start them, wait 5 min
to make sure they are
fully booted, start my app on main computer, get into our
main menu, start
my app on workstation then everything worked on both
computers for that day
then the next day back to the problem.

They said the virus program is not scanning the db, tried
unplugging DSL box
to disconnect from web.....

They sent me their db and of course it works fine on my
test network
I told them is it works OK on my laptop, then 2 other
computers that are networked
then the program (RBase) is OK and there is something
strange that is locking
up those tables but I can't think of what.

Any suggestions?
thanks
Marc
