Javier,
Thanks for writing back. I am running under Windows XP. I just did
some checking, and the problem only happens one one computer, so I think
there is something wrong with my install. I just reinstalled R:Base a
few weeks back because I had to reload the OS on my development computer.
Thanks,
Jason

I have experience exactly the same problem you describe when I run a R:Base
7.5 application using Windows Vista. The application was developed and runs
perfectly under Window XP.
Since I am hoping to upgrade to 7.6 or 8.0 in the near future and I still
have an XP laptop, I have not taken the time to play with the setting in
Vista. Maybe, someone that has 7.5 working in Vista can chime in.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Problem with forms
I am running R:Base 7.5 and designing a new form. After I place all
my controls and save the form, the controls move around in all three
dimensions when I open the form again. I even have controls leaving
their parent object.
For example, I have an Enhanced Panel that contains a second
Enhanced Panel. Inside the second Enhanced Panel, I have placed several
Label (Static Text) controls. Before I save and close the form, if I
try to drag them out of the Enhanced Panel, I cannot. After I save and
reopen the form (either in design view, or by running it), the Static
Text controls have moved up and to the left, and behind all the other
controls. They are no longer confined to the Enhanced Panel. If I try
to send either of the Enhanced Panels to the back, I still can't see the
Static Text controls. I can move the Enhanced Panels out of the way and
then select the Static Text controls. When I drag the Static Text
controls over the Enhanced Panels and drop them, they immediately go
behind the Enhanced Panels. I have also tried selecting a Static Text
control, and then choosing Bring to Front and dragging it. It still
goes behind the Enhanced Panel.
I am sure that I am doing something fairly basic wrong, but I can't
figure out what. It seems that the form itself becomes the parent for
all the controls after I save it. Is there some way to reset the parent
property? Am I somehow accidentally breaking the parent/child
relationship? If anybody can point me in the right direction, I would
be grateful.
Thanks,
Jason
