For those interested, 6.5++ runs better in Wine than it does in windows.
I HAD to check it out...
John,
Technically, all versions of R:BASE for Windows should run better in
Wine or any translation layer (a program loader) capable of running
Windows applications on Linux and other POSIX compatible operating
systems. Linux offers full Win32 compatible memory layout, exception
handling, threads and processes. Amazing file locking mechanism,
therefore, increased speed in a multi-user environment (similar to
Novell).
If you didn't know already, the following presentation is scheduled
for the 10th Anniversary R:BASE Developers' Conference in October:
Running R:BASE 7.6/Turbo V-8 for Windows on Linux Server - Taking
advantage of speed in a multi-user environment

Very Best R:egards,
Razzak.
