I regularly find defaults change when I use Design to add/delete a field
to a table. Computed formulas usually remain the same but single items (
integers or text, ie, 0,T,N) tend to vanish or get changed to something
like "ÿÿÿ ì". Today the auto-numbered MasterID column dropped to
Initial= 0, increment=0 when it was 2010 and 1. I'm developing a
permanent master table with 30 fields that gets appended to by 5-6 other
temporary tables with different subsets of those master fields. The
temps get dropped and rebuilt after every use. The basic model works
great during run-throughs, but fields will keep getting added/dropped as
this project moves along. Is there something that avoids the default
problem or do I just have to remember to go back and adjust after making
changes? There are multiple computed columns so the defaults are needed
while setting this up.
