Well, I've been putting this off but best to close this chapter of my life and open others. As my last client as an R:Base developer recently declared bankruptcy, and my last $125 invoice was put in the bottom of the To-Pay file with a $0 assigned to it, it's time to really close my consulting business for good.
Let me say how much I envy all of you having the fabulous R:Base to use. It has become under Razzak and his team, who have perhaps uniquely in the software world actively listened to their users and improved the product continuously, an amazing program. Oh, to be 30 (or 40 or 50) again with this tool! Since developing an accounting database at a Mobil Land Development office in 1985 (which was adopted within months by the entire Land company - one of my career's most satisfying accomplishments), I have used R:Base for many different applications with great success - tracking capital expenditures, invoices, real estate customers, inventory, commitments, and, oh yes, a retail marina store operation. But it's time to store the databases, shut off this email list, and pursue retirement full-time. I never met any of you that I know of, unless you attended R:Base seminars in the late 1980's, but feel like I know many of you from your posts here. (Some of you may have met my colleague Kit Carson from the seminars he attended in the early 1990's). And thanks, very much, for all the help I've received over the years from this list, some times vital but always timely. Best of luck and fortune, all arising from hard work, to R:Base Technologies, Razzak, and all the great developers and users of R:Base! Patrick Murphy Tucson [EMAIL PROTECTED] PS: My other noteworthy accomplishment - I set up the initial entry for R:Base in Wikipedia!
