In a similar offering from the early 80's, I drove 3 hours to listen to a two hour presentation showcasing the amazing features of Rbase and to get my FREE copy of Rbase, the one in the blue plastic "bucket." Even though I considered myself a very small time developer, I ended up creating three applications for which the customers ended up buying the multi user versions.

At the time I was fighting reports using dBase III+, and as soon as I saw that the report generator had more than two levels of sub totaling and that I could put real text on the subtotal rather than *sub total* I jumped. There was a really steep learning curve for me out in the boonies, but one of the contractors working on the main frame knew SQL and got me going. Never looked back.
