Hard to believe I haven't had to do this yet in 7.6. I have a 2-table form that I will be using with ENTER USING (but will also probably have the same problem with an EDIT USING next). The second table is a scrolling region. This is an update from 6.5 that used a playback file to do what I need.
There is a field called "Bill Rate" that is based on a rather complicated combination of things, too complicated to put in a form variable. It also requires user confirmation that the rate it calculated is okay, allow them to change it if they want, then have the field updated with that value. I put an entry eep into the Bill Rate field to do all that -- worked fine until I had to figure out how to update the field. Can't use a CompID because it's a region so they all would change. Is this what I would do: (1) save the row, (2) update the row, (3) do a table refresh? I'm just wondering what that would do to the cursor location in the form. They are in Enter mode and are used to traveling fast between the fields, so it would be unacceptable to them if they end up not on the same row and able to [enter] their way into another new row. Before I waste time figuring out how this will work, figured I'd ask you guys. How can I mimic what we did in 6.5 with a playback?
