To All, I wish to express my sincerest thanks to all the attendees of the 10th Anniversary R:BASE Developers' Conference for their gracious forbearance of my slips of tongue and my fumbling of the various introductions due in measure to my anxiety at speaking to groups in general and the failure to bring my "Reading" cheaters along with my "Computer" cheaters in particular.
I want to thank my co-hosts, Bill and Sami, for shouldering the bulk of the activities in the way they do. They move along so smoothly you'd think they did it for a living. It is no wonder Razzak holds you guys in such regard. You are the best. No Kidding.. Emmitt, Ken, Paul, and John were "EVERYWHERE" with the cameras, catching little slices of conference life that will make it easy to remember the nuances of this important milestone in the history of RBTI. Claudine, Sharon and the other helping hands deserve special thanks. It is apparent they take a step beyond just doing something to the next level of doing it superbly. Really, it shows. Not many people in this setting know me personally, but it pleases me to see anyone do their best to "do their best". I saw this special attribute present many times at this event. One day, maybe next conference, I will share the story of when that blinding flash of light was bestowed upon me that caused me to hold in high regard these individuals that strive for excellence and to hold in disdain individuals that coast along on their counterparts coattails. The dinner cruise was a nice touch. It gave a little more time to commune on a personal level with everyone. In spite of the many, many communications we make with each other in the scope of the list server, you just can't put the person in your mind until you get a chance to take them into your personal world a bit by exchanging pleasantries. It also made the conference experience a bit more palatable for the spouses that largely spend a great deal of time alone at these things. Thanks to RBTI for a wonderfully memorable event.
