It's been so long that I have done this that I have forgotten how! I have
been asked to modify an old program that I wrote in R:Base 6.5+ -- I know,
old and obsolete, but the customer likes what they have and they are not yet
ready to upgrade to the latest and greatest yet.
Anyway, I need to output several comma delimited files from within the
program code. These files will then be imported into Microsoft Excel and
Microsoft Access for further processing and eventual XML data file uploads
to a private web site.
My problem is I can't seem to remember how to get the Null value setting to
output literally nothing if a value is null. I need absolutely nothing
between the commas in the comma delimited files if the value is null. No
matter what I have tried, I get some spaces between the commas.
I have done this before, but it has been several years, and I can't seem to
find the old code where I did it. I am sure I can eventually remember and
get it working, but I am on a tight deadline -- test upload of data to the
web site has to be done this week -- so any help that can get me moving
quicker with this problem will be greatly appreciated!
