Yes, Gateway gave no error and had all approx. 4000 records. It is possible that the 16 offending records were incorrectly loaded by Gateway also. I did not go and see. Just checked on the count and any message reported. I'm thinking it is a carriage return/line feed combo that somehow got stuck in a text field when my source created their Excel file. Most of the bad records only had two square box characters, but there was one that had more than one set. It has been cleaned out.

So are you saying the import from Gateway worked fine, but the load did not? Interesting that Gateway is more "forgiving" Karen I unloaded the imported data as csv, added it as another tab to the original spreadsheet and compared the key field from the original with the unload data. Found 16 offending records. Each record had two "funny" characters (open square box) appended to any one field of the record. I am sure when I remove those it will work flawlessly. Thanks, Hans
