Paul:  As far as the R> prompt, go to Settings, R> Prompt.   Make sure Scroll 
Bars is checked, and set the buffer number -- I usually put in 1,000 and it 
seems to hold enough data for my needs.   See if either one of these settings 
needs to be changed.
