I tried using a dsnless connection but it would
not work and kept asking me for the R:Base ODBC driver. I can connect to an MS
Access Database since it uses the Microsoft driver, but no luck connecting to
another
R:Base database without the R:Base drivers installed.

"DSNLess" does not mean you don't have to have drivers installed. You still
need a valid set of R:Base drivers (from the full product or Otero) to perform
a DSNLess connection. What you _don't_ have to do for a DSNLess connection is
use the Control Panel to "create" the connection. You simply pass all the
information you would have specified in the control panel directly to ODBC in
the proper format.
