Anyone ever done any sort of Photo Album/Library in RB?

I don't need all the features/function of iLife, Etc, and I won't be
creating slideshows/movies via an RB system.

However, I have just started to put together a DVD for my Middle School
XC runners (including my undefeated Tennessee State Champion girls) and
their parents. The problem is that I have hundreds, perhaps thousands
of still and moving pix taken throughout the Fall 2008 season and given
me by the parents. Some are high-res', in focus, well-framed, and even
touching/poignant. Some aren't even worth the Recycle Bin but rather
[Left Shift]-[Delete], including many of the ones I took.

I would like to store in RB some data about these, such as:
 > Path\File
 > Various Objective Image Data, such as Resolution, Image AND File
Creation Date,
Pixel Depth, File Size, Etc, especially if those are retrievable by
RB directly
or perhaps through a DLL I (think I) could write
 > User-Defined Items such as Picture Name, some sort of subjective
Quality data,
and other attributes or keywords, etc.

I think I can handle all the things I mention above. However, if
anybody has done something like this before, I would ask for any advice,
tips, tricks, blunders, as well as suggestions on data items I might
have omitted.

Thanks,
Steve in Memphis
