It's funny that you mentioned that. Actually, the timing is kind
of perfect, because there was this thing about R:eXtreme 9.0, and
one of our Corporate beta customers asked if we could introduce a
new rich text control that is capable of doing some amazing things
in our completely re-engineered front-end & engine, R:eXtreme 9.0?

That's great news, because I can tell that this customer will be able
to use some of the features you outlined.
Keeping up with today's ever-changing technology and incorporating
R:BASE to provide a total solution for current needs has always
been a challenge on which I thrive.
I do hope that there will be a 32 bit version of v9 maintaining RB?
file compatibility with DOS, because this user won't be completely
off DOS for some time.
That is one of the reasons we have decided to introduce R:BASE
eXtreme 9.0 (32) to be fully compatible with previous versions
of R:BASE (.rb1 - .rb4). Users will be able take full advantage
of our totally re-engineered front-end as well as R:BASE Engine
using Microsoft development/compiler environment, while still
chugging along with their current versions of DOS and 7.x Win
versions, using the same database.
The one thing that you didn't mention that I would love to see is
Mail Merge ability in the DB and Variable versions of the Rich Text
control.
We are not done yet. Are we?
In the meantime, I think I'm able to provide them with a 100% R:Base
solution using the existing Rich Text functionality plus the existing
string manipulation. This should carry them through until the new
version is available.
That is simply the "Beauty and Power" of R:BASE!
Very Best R:egards,
Razzak.
