Karen, if your client happens to be in higher education, you can find 
additional info at http://www.pesc.org/.    There's some push in the 
educational community to convert EDI to XML.

Wow, Larry, an EXCELLENT explanation because I actually understood it.   I sent 
your explanation onto the client because even he doesn't know what the heck EDI 
is.   And thank you Bob too.  I know in the past you're reluctant to take on 
outside work but if my client wants to go ahead with it I might ask if we could 
collaborate since you're "local".
