Thanks, I have never used VariableListView so it is something I do not think of
very often,

I have a lane solution that I am currently using, I have the column places on
the
file lines, at the top I have 3 Bit Buttons S B W, if click in the column in
the 3rd line
then click B a B will appear in that box, but it takes 2 clicks per line.

I really have 2 forms, one with the region I am working on, and one that has
one tier
and the note fields expanded on it. On this one I can use the RadioGroup and
that's why
I wanted to have the same look and feel on the plain form and the Region.

Leave it to me to dream up with this.

I will look at other options but I do not think any would be as simple and
elegant ad the
Radio group type thing in the region...at least none that I know about..

  Marc,

I've watching this post with interest to see what you might come up with.
I believe that you should not abandon Steve's suggestion of
  VariableListViews.

There are a number of valuable NEW tools given to us in R:Base. While
I still use Scrolling Regions for a few things, my tool of choice has become
the VariableListView. With it I can,
  Display an image (select/deselect)
Change the contents of the list from a button without leaving the form
Use the double-clik to go to specific records
Use the right-clik to bring up a menu of choices to change the record and
then re-display
Change the background colors and font colors for specific rows
  ... and more

Although I have only played with one image, there are provisions for multiple
images.

Unfortunately it is sometimes difficult to explain what you are trying to do
in words.

Don't give up. But as Steve suggested you might need to explore a different
tool.
