Already been done. I made a pretty nice calendar from a form a few years
back. Let me see if it is already included in something I have on the web.
If not, I will put it up. It is sized to be smaller, like the DT picker,
but since it is a form, you can make it any size you want.

You will need to make your own calendar for a touch screen.
When I did my touch screen application I had to create
a keyboard (with help from Emmitt Dove) and make forms
for my pause and dialogs .
I little bit of work but well worth the effort.
