George,

I would try a couple of things before creating a new Walk Menu. Try Paul's
suggestion of creating a new CFG or try a walk menu name lookup in V8 (if
you have it). Or even just add another combo box to the same form and
recreate the lookup and other things first.

You might even try reloading the database this happens on.

Good luck,

Paul

Thanks for the reply, Paul

These databases are all 7.6 and are ran in the field under compiler. One of
these locations is where the problem was originally identified.

I have then located the problem which does occur on my 7.6 that I use for
development.

I cannot determine ay change in the WalkMenu that I would have made to cause
this. Next step seems to be to rebuild a new WalkMenu .

George,

I happen to be working on a form with walk menus for name entry and I am not
seeing what you describe. I tried a first name starting with "Gr" and also
a last name & the drop-down list looks fine.

What version of R:Base is this? Can you try either 7.6 or V8 (whichever is
not the one you tried)?

Best of luck,

Paul Buckley

Has anyone encountered this problem?

In certain names such as Greene, Gregory, Gray, when the Letters Gr are
entered to start the sequence, the first name listed beginning with Gr shows
on the screen, followed by two colored blocks about 6-8 rows each in height.
Just the colored blocks with no text showing.

I have tested several databases and find same results in all,

It does not present this problem on any name such as Gore that has a vowel
as the second letter. These names select properly as do all others tested.

This seems to be a fluke that involves only those names starting with Gr and
such names as FRanklin, BRadly or BRown work as expected.

Any solution or ideas would be appreciated.

George
