I agree with Brad that Version 9 looks very good with the date of when a form
or report was last edited (I'm really looking forward to using that),
drop-and-drag options expanded in many parts of the program. The enhanced
DBGrid looks great, lots of new form options with lots of hints thrown in to
boot (F11 key for properties, F5 for sample code). The specific hints on
development tasks from Razzak and the other developers will help me get the sub
8 font size into my reports. I will have to try out the crosstab report for a
new idea that emerged at the training.

I found many of the new features to show great productivity potential for the
developer.

Thanks to all the efforts of Razzak and the R:Base team and the fellow
developers at the training. It was a real honor to be one of the first to get
hands on the eXtreme version 9 product.

Having attended the first presentation of R:BASE eXtreme 9.0, with a few
hours to go in this SAT, I am overwhelmed with all the new enhancements.

Upon first presentation, the classy rework of all design tools (form,
report, rbedit, database explorer) is readily apparent - resulting in a very
clean and legible environment for the developer - great look and feel!

RBTI has been eXtremely busy these past 2 years and this version bears it
out (would we expect anything else?)! Here are just a few enhancements:

- Automated Form and Report version number recordation -
incremented by 1 - upon any revision or save process.

- Custom colors can be saved to an external file in Form designer

- A "souped-up" Query Builder, can now build complex queries with
QBE (e.g., outer, inner joins, etc..)

- Single or multi select table definition unload with DB Explorer
(Tables)

- Single / multi / all select of forms for
compression/un-compression (decompression?)

- Ruler now available in Forms Design

- Enhanced DB Navigator - built-in Record # of ## !

- Form tab page control orientation - selectable in Form Designer

- Enhanced DB Grid - wow! - With footer band - can replace several
of my reports currently to screen for my users/clients

- Built-in ver. 9.0 RBEditor - with many of the standalone RBEditor
program: compare by content, block content vertically (shift+alt+down arrow,
and more)

- Report Designer new property command: PROPERTY REPORT CANCEL
'TRUE' - bail out for user in Before Generate EEP, or, password protect
report printing.

Converting my 800 mb RBG76 to RBG90 (32 bit pointers) was a snap, simply
connect and open database. Converting from 7.6 to 9.0 (64 bit pointers) with
intermediate step through 8.0 took less than 5 min 30 sec.

There are many more enhancements in the report designer not discussed here,
we've still an hour and half to go! I know I've a lot more to pour over and
digest in this version.

Thank you Razzak and RBTI - fantastic work and as always, much appreciated!

Also, thank you Bill Downall for making the arrangements for this SAT in
Indianapolis! Enjoyed a great stay and the camaraderie with fellow R:BASE
Developers.
