Ok --- I backup and backup!

So if you have a Terabyte drive out there - be careful. These drives are
subject to catastrophic failure at the moment. There are some good ones out
there. And bless the folks at $...@gate, they allowed me (with permission) to
open and try to retrieve the data. The data is written in Linux No
problem I thought but the folders are empty! Hack - perhaps but
also drive failure and if you blog this it is a bit common. It seems they
run a little hot. My replacement is going to go online at set hours and
then be shut off during the rest of the day.

I was in the process of building a second server in office (Windows Server
2008 it is up now!) when this happened. I have most if not all the
information. Also as a RWeb Server! Again but 2008! I will not bore
anybody with the lost disk problem - hence 2008 verses 2003 ;( but I
will also say I feel a lot better about our SAP then a do about MS policy.
Want the nasty details just email.

Sincerely,
Paul

My techs and I have check the failure reports. Back to 800's Raid and
Mirror to Mirror Servers and in the very near future a VPN tunnel to a off
site server. Not to mention the optical. And .........

In short watch your NAS's
