Yes, this also was an RBASE crash. I guess if that happens with the window off
the screen (maybe that caused the crash?) it leaves the invalid info in the
registry. In any case, it is good to know what to do when this happens.

Thanks again,
Dennis

It only happened to me once and I remember it. I was exited from RBase
unexpectedly. I later discovered the reason for the unexpected exit, but not
the main window position.

I could replicate the "unexpected" exit, since I knew the cause, but I was not
able to replicate the main window issue on a consistent basis either. Perhaps
it's a combination of things and that's just the last straw, so to speak.

For me, this is not an uncommon occurrence. RegEdit even knows it's what I need
so it opens in the right place.

As I recollect, it first happened a few years back with the Data Dictionary.
Recently it has been the main window.

The solution, as Dawn says, is to change the Left and/or Top values to
something more suitable - although I have never had to alter any value in
HKEY_USERS, only HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

I have never really discovered why it happens but my best guess is when R:Base
doesn't get closed properly but there doesn't seem to be anything consistent or
regular enough to report.

Regards,
Alastair.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\R:Base Technoligies\RBG76\Main Window. I also had
to change the value in HKEY_USERS\<user id>\Software.....

In my case, I tried the maximize thing and it didn't work.
