This may help... Razzak has a form called SearchForm DBGrid in RRBYW14
It allows you to put the cursor in a column, enter a search work then
jump to that record.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - edit

in using a form to edit a row, i want to be able to use a popup menu in
the form to select the row i want to edit. i know how to go to the next or
previous row. i'd like to select the name of the item [a column in the table]
in the row i want to edit. that way i can populate all the fields in the form
and edit the ones i want.
if i put a pop-up menu for the field with the item name it allows me to
change the item name for that row, not go to the row with that item name.
my work around right now is [in the application] to use a separate form
to choose the row and then in the next action, EDIT USING the edit form WHERE
itemname LIKE itemname.
i think there must be an elegant way to do this. i checked the sample
applications but couldn't find what i was looking for. can someone point me in
the right direction. thanks,
