I would say I have not experienced any issues directly related to compiler. I also like RInstaller if you are doing multi computers. It does a nice job compacting the compiled exe along with the db files etc.. The best part is you can make sure the end users is using the latest dll's if you put them in the RInstaller menu/options (what-ever you call it).
As for speed difference - I cannot comment I have not used runtime since 3 or 4. So I guess I like compiler.
