Paula I cant tell whats wrong but what I almost do as pure reflex is on every click or doubleclick EEP add the RECALC VAR, try that if you dont have it.

I got the variable list lookups to work (had to read the help instructions for how this changed in 7.6) However the thing thats driving me bonkers seems like it should be easiest to do and doesnt seem to have changed from 7.1 unless Im just missing something. The user types a name or a portion of a name into the form and the system displays a list of possible matches. When the user clicks on the correct name, two other variable list lookup boxes are populated with various transactional data. Got that all working fine. However there are variable labels that are just simple lookups (vhomephone = homephone in biofile where idno = .vidno) that just will not work. As I said, they work ifne in 7.1. There are several of these variable labels that should just look up info from the main table based upon the record selected. They just stay blank. What am I missing? Paula
